James J. Heckman (1944- )
Awarded the Prize “for his development of theory methods for analyzing ive samples.”American economist. Heckman was born on April 19, 1944 in Chicago. He took his B.A. in Mathematics at Colorado College in 1965. From Princeton University he received his M.A. in 1968 his Ph.D. in Economics in 1971. He has been Research Associate at National Bureau of Economic Research since 1971. In 1988 he became A. Whitney Griswold Professor of Economics at Yale University since 1995 he has been Henry Schultz Distinguished Service Professor at University of Chicago.
