Leonid Hurwicz (1917-2008)

Awarded the Prize “for having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory.”

Leonid Hurwicz was an American Economist. He was born in Moscow Russia on 21st August 1917. He graduated from the University of Warsaw, Pol in 1919 with a Master of Laws. He was the Professor of Economic Seciences in the University of Minnesota. He died in Minnesota USA on 24 June 2008.
