Christopher A. Pissarides (1948- )

Awarded the Prize “for analysis of markets with search frictions.”

Christopher A. Pissarides is an Economist with dual citizen of Cyprus Britain. He was born on 20 February 1948 in Nicosia Cyprus. He received his B.A. in Economics in 1970 his M.A. in Economics in 1971 at the University of Essex. He subsequently enrolled in the London School of Economics, where he received his Ph.D. in Economics in 1973. He currently is Professor in the London School of Economics.
