Elfriede Jelinek (1946- )
Awarded the Prize “for her musical flow of voices er-voices in novels plays that with extraordinary linguistic zeal reveal the absurdity of societys clichés their subjugating power.”Elfriede Jelinek is an Austrian Jewish writer who was born in Mürzzuschlag, Styria, Austria on 20 October 1946. She received her Master of Organ from Vienna Musical College in 1971.
