Orhan Pamuk (1952- )
Awarded the Prize “for his quest for the melancholic soul in the native city has discovered new symbols for the clash interlacing of cultures.”Orhan Pamuk is a Turkish novelist who was born in Istanbul Turkey on 7 June 1952. He graduated from the Institute of Journalism at the University of Istanbul in 1976. He is the Visiting Professor in the University of Columbia.
