Doris Lessing (1919-2013)
Awarded the Prize “for her scrutiny of a divided civilisation who with scepticism, fire visionary power which is also an epicist of the female experience”.Doris Lessing was a British Writer who was born on 22 October 1919 in Kermanshan Persia(Now Iran). Lessing was educated at the Dominican Convent High School, a Roman Catholic convent all-girls school in Salisbury (now Harare)Lessing left school aged 14, thereafter was self-educated. Times ranked her fifth on a list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945. Lessing died on November 17, 2013 in London.
