
Jaroslav Heyrovsky (1890-1967)
Awarded the Prize “for his discovery development of the polarographic methods of analysis.”Czechoslova Kian physical chemist. Heyrovsky was born in Prague on December 20, 1890. He was educated at Charles University in Prague at University College, London, took his Ph.D. degree in Prague in 1918 D.Sc. in London in 1921. He joined the staff of Charles University in 1919 where he served as Professor of Physics from 1919 until 1954. From 1950 he was also Head of the Central Polarographic Institute. Heyrovsky died in Prague on March 27, 1967.
