Karl Ziegler (1898-1973)

Awarded the Prize “for his discoveries in the field of the chemistry technology of high polymers.”

German chemist. Ziegler was born at Helsa in Germany on November 26, 1898. He received his doctorate from the University of Marburg in 1923 then taught at Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Halle before becoming Director of the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research in 1943. Ziegler died on August 12, 1973 in Germany.
