Karl von Frisch (1886-1982)

Awarded the Prize “for the discoveries concerning organization elicitation of individual social behaviour patterns.”

German zoologist. Frisch was born on November 20, 1886 at Vienna, Austria. In 1910 he received his doctorate from the University of Vienna. Since 1921, he had been professor at the Universities of Rostock, Breslau, Munich, Graz. He became a Professor Emeritus of the Zoological Institute of the University of Munich in 1950. Frisch died on June 12, 1982 in Munich.
