Arvid Carlsson (1923-2018)

Awarded the Prize “for signal transduction in the nervous system.”

Swedish pharmacologist. Carlsson was born on January 25, 1923 in Uppsala, Sweden. He took his M.D. from the University of Lund in 1951 became an Assistant Professor in the same year. In 1959 he became Professor of Pharmacology at Göteborg University in Sweden since 1989 he has been Professor Emeritus. Carlsson died on June 29, 2018 in Göteborg, Sweden.
