Lel H. Hartwell (1939- )
Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of key regulators of the cell cycle.”Hartwell is an American Biologist who was born in Los Angeles California US on 30 October 1939. He graduated from California Institute of Technology in 1961 then gained his Ph.D. from MIT in 1964. He used to be president director of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington.
