Sir Paul M. Nurse (1949- )
Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of key regulators of the cell cycle.”Sir Paul Nurse is a British Geneticist cell biologist who was born on 25 January 1949 in Norwich UK. He received his undergraduate degree in 1970 from the University of Birmingham his Ph.D. degree in 1973 from School of Biological Sciences at the University of East Anglia. He was Director of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF, now named the Cancer Research UK London Research Institute), Director of Cell Cycle Laboratary Member of the Royal Society.
