John E. Sulston (1942-2018)

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery concerning genetic regulation of organ development programmed cell death.”

Sir John Edward Sulston was a British biologist who was born on 27 March 1942. He obtained his Master Ph.D. from Cambridge University in 1963 1966. He worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Salk Institute in San Diego USA for 1966-1969. He worked in MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in UK. He was a member of the Royal Society. Sulston died on March 6, 2018.
