Françoise Barré-Sinoussi (1947- )

Awarded the Prize “for discovery of human immunodeficiency virus.”

She is a French Virologist who was born on 30 July 1947 in Parids, France. She graduated from Pasteur Institute of Paris in 1974 with PhD in virology. She then joined Research Institute of National Sanitary, France for research works. She is the director of the Unité de Régulation des Infections Rétrovirales at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, France.
