Shinya Yamanaka (1962- )

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery that mature cells can be reprogrammed to become pluripotent."

Japanese medical scientist. Mr. Yamanaka was born in Osaka of Japan on September 4, 962. He received his Ph.D. in medicine from Kobe University in 1987 Ph.D. in biology from Osaka City University in 1993. Currently, he is the director professor of Kyoto iPS Cell Research Institute.
