Roald Hoffmann (1937- )
Awarded the Prize “for his theories, developed independently, concerning the course of chemical reactions.”American chemist. Hoffmann was born on July 18, 1937 in Zloczow, Pol. He graduated from Columbia College in 1958. In 1962 he received his doctorate from Harvard University. He is the Frank H. T. Rodes Professor of Humane Letters at Cornell University.
