Henry Taube (1915-2005)
Awarded the Prize “for his work on the mechanisms of electron transfer reactions, especially in metal complexes.”American chemist. Taube was born at Neudorf, Canada on November 30, 1915. He was educated at the University of Saskatchewan the University of California at Berkeley where he obtained his M.A. in 1937 his Ph.D. in 1940. He taught at Cornell University, at the University of Chicago before joining the faculty of Stanford University in 1961. He became a U.S. citizen in 1942. Taube died in Stanford, California on November 16, 2005.
