Jean-Marie Lehn (1939- )
Awarded the Prize “for his development use of molecules with structure-specific interactions of high ivity.”French chemist. Lehn was born at Rosheim in France on September 30, 1939. He was educated at Strasbourg where he obtained his Ph.D. in 1963, then worked at Harvard. He worked as Professor of University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg from 1966 to 1979 returned to Harvard as a professor of chemistry in 1972 1979. In 1979 he took up the chair of chemistry at the Collége de France, Paris. He was a visiting professor at the E.T.H. in Zürich, the Universities of Cambridge, Barcelona Frankfurt.
