Mario J. Molina (1943-2020)

Awarded the Prize “for his work in atmospheric chemistry, particularly concerning the formation decomposition of ozone.”

American physical chemist. Molina was born in Mexico City on March 19, 1943. He studied at the University of Freiburg Germany. In 1968 he entered the University of California, Berkeley, where he gained his Ph.D. in 1972. He worked at the University of California, Irvine at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Molina died on October 7, 2020 in Mexico City, Mexico.
