Aaron Ciechanover (1947- )
Awarded the Prize “for his discovery of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation.”Aaron is an Israeli Biologist. Born in Haifa Palestine on 1st of October 1947. He received his doctorate in biochemistry in 1982 from the Technion (the Israel Institute of Technology), in Haifa. He is currently a Technion Distinguished Research Professor in the Ruth Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine Research Institute at the Technion. He is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences Humanities, the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, is a foreign associate of the United States National Academy of Sciences.
