Irwin Rose (1926-2015)

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation.”

He was an American Biologist who was born on 16th of July 1926 in Brooklyn New York USA. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1952 from the University of Chicago. He was a distinguished professor-in-residence in the Department of Physiology Biophysics at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. Irwin Rose died on June 2, 2015 at Deerfield, Massachusetts.
