Richard R. Schrock (1945- )

Awarded the Prize “for his work in the area of olefin metathesis.”

He is an American Chemist who was born on 4th of January 1945 in Berne, Indiana, USA. He holds a B.A. (1967) from the University of California, Riverside a Ph.D. (1971) from Harvard University. He is currently the Professor of Chemistry at Massachu-setts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is both the member of the American National Academy of Sciences Academy of Arts Sciences.
