Roger D. Kornberg (1947- )
Awarded the Prize “for his studies in the molecular basis of eukaryotic transcription.”He is an American biochemist who was born on 24th of April 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Kornberg earned his bachelors degree in chemistry from Harvard University in 1967 his Ph.D. in chemical physics from Stanford in 1972. He is currently a professor of Structural Biology at Stanford University. He is both the member of the American National Academy of Sciences Academy of Arts Sciences.
