Daniel Shechtman (1941- )

Awarded the Prize “for his discovery of quasicrystals.”

Israeli chemist. Mr. Shechtman was born in Tel Aviv of Israel on January 24, 1941. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1972. Currently, he is professor of Technion - Israel Institute of Technology professor of Iowa State University of the United States.
