Murray Gell-Mann (1929-2019)

Awarded the Prize “for his contributions discoveries concerning the classification of elementary particles their interactions.”

American theoretical physicist. Gell-Mann was born in New York City on September 15, 1929. He took his B.Sc. at Yale University in 1948 his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1951. He was Professor of California Institute of Technology the University of Chicago. He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences American Academy of Arts Sciences. Gell-Mann died on May 24, 2019 in Santa Fe, NM, USA.
