Dennis Gabor (1900-1979)

Awarded the Prize “for his invention development of the holographic method.”

British physicist. Gabor was born in Budapest, Hungary on June 5, 1900. He graduated from the University of Industry, Berlin. In 1927, he completed doctorate in engineering then Ph.D. of the University of London. He was Professor of Imperial College, London a member of the National Academy of Sciences the Royal Society in London. Gabor died in London on February 8, 1979.
