Aage Niels Bohr (1922-2009)

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of the connection between collective motion particle motion in atomic nuclei the development of the theory of the structure of the atomic nucleus based on this connection.”

Danish physicist. Son of N. Bohr, Aage Bohr was born in Copenhagen on June 19, 1922. He began studying physics at the University of Copenhagen in 1940 obtained his ’s degree in 1946 his doctorate in 1954. He was Professor of the University of Copenhagen Nordic Institute for Theoretical Atomic Physics. He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences American Academy of Arts Sciences. Aage Bohr died in Copenhagen on September 8, 2009.
