Robert Woodrow Wilson (1936- )

Awarded the Prize “for his discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation.”

American radio astronomer physicist. Wilson was born in Houston, Texas on January 10, 1936. He graduated from Rice University in 1957 received his Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology in 1962. Since 1976, he has been the head of Radio Physics Research Department at Bell Laboratories.
