
Carlo Rubbia (1934- )
Awarded the Prize “for his decisive contributions to the large project, which led to the discovery of the field particles W Z, communicators of weak interaction.”Italian physicist. He was born in Gorizia, Italy on March 31, 1934. After completing the University education at Pisa receiving his doctorate in 1958, he went to Columbia University. He joined the faculty of the University of Rome in 1960 was appointed senior physicist at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN). He was appointed professorship in 1970 Harvard University.
