
K. Alexer Müller (1927-2023)
Awarded the Prize “for his important break-through in the discovery of superconductivity in ceramic materials.”Swiss physicist. Müller was born in Basle, Switzerl on April 20, 1927. In 1946, he was enrolled in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich where he received his Ph.D. in 1958. He was offered a position as a research staff member at the IBM Zürich Research Laboratory, Rüschlikon in 1963. He became Professor at the University of Zürich in 1970. He has been Foreign Associate Member of the Academy of Sciences, USA. Dr. Müller passed away on January 9, 2023 in Zurich, Switzerland.
