Douglas D. Osheroff (1945- )

Awarded the Prize “for his discovery of superfluidity in helium-3.”

American physicist. Osheroff was born in Aberdeen, Washington on August 1, 1945. Graduated from the California Institute of Technology, he attended Cornell University for graduate studies, from which he obtained his ’s degree doctorate. He served as Physics Department Chair in Stanford University. He has been the member of the National Academy of Sciences the American Academy of Arts Sciences.
