Martinus J. G. Veltman (1931-2021)

Awarded the Prize “for elucidating the quantum structure of electroweak interactions in physics.”

Dutch physicist. Veltman was born in Waalwijk, the Netherlands on June 27, 1931. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Utrecht in 1963. He was Professor of Theoretical Physics at Utrecht the University of Michigan at An Arber, USA. He was a member of the Netherlands Royal Academy of Sciences. Veltman died on January 4, 2021 in Bilthoven, the Netherlands.
