Herbert Kroemer (1928-2024)

Awarded the Prize “for basic work on information and communication technology and for developing semiconductor heterostructures used in high-speed- and opto-electronics.”

American physicist. Kroemer was born in Germany on December 18, 1928. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in 1952 from the University of G?ttingen, Germany. Following work in a number of research laboratories in Germany the USA, Kroemer persuaded the ECE Department at the University of California at San. Dr. Kroemer passed away on March 8th, 2024.
