Eric A. Cornell (1961- )

Awarded the Prize “for the achievement of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute gases of alkali atoms, for early fundamental studies of the properties of the condensates.”

Eric A. Cornell is an American Physicist who was born in USA in 1961. He received his B.S. from Stanford University in 1985 Ph.D. in physics at MIT in 1990. He bagan to teach physics in Colorado University from 1992 is currently a professor at the University of Colorado since 1995. He is a physicist at the United States Department of Commerce National Institute of Stards Technology since 1992. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts Sciences in 2005.
