Wolfgang Ketterle (1957- )

Awarded the Prize “for the achievement of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute gases of alkali atoms, for early fundamental studies of the properties of the condensates.”

Wolfgang Ketterle is a German Physicist who was born in Germany in 1957. He gained his Master degree in 1982 from the Technical University of Munich Ph.D. in 1986. He did his postdoctor research work in Max Plank Institute, Ruprecht-Karls Universitaet Haidelberg MIT. He bagan to teach in MIT from 1993.
