
Carl E. Wieman (1951- )
Awarded the Prize “for the achievement of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute gases of alkali atoms, for early fundamental studies of the properties of the condensates.”Carl E. Wieman is an American Physicist. He was born on 26 March 1951 in Corvallis, Oregon, USA. He graduated from MIT in 1973 with Bachelor degree then gained his PhD in Stanford University in 1977. He became a Professor of Physics in 1987 in University of Colorado since 1997, he works as the Senior Professor in the same university.
