Raymond Davis Jr. (1914-2006)

Awarded the Prize “for his pioneering contributions to astrophysics, in particular for the detection of cosmic neutrinos.”

Raymond Davis Jr. was an American Physicist who was born on 14 October 1914 in Washington DC, USA. He received his Ph.D. from Yale University in Physical Chemistry in 1942. He used to be the Professor of Department of Astronomy Astrophysics at University of Pennsylvania. He died on 31 May 2006 in New York State USA at age of 92.
