Albert Fert (1938- )

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of Giant Magnetoresistance.”

Albert Fert is a French Physicist who was born on 7 March 1938 in Carcassonne, Aude, France. Fert graduated in 1962 from the ?cole Normale Supérieure in Paris. He received his s degree in 1963 at the University of Paris, earned his Ph.D. in 1970 at the Université Paris-Sud. He used to be the Professor in the Universite Paris-Sud.
