Peter Grünberg (1939-2018)

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of Giant Magnetoresistance.”

Peter Grünberg was a Germany Physicist who was born on 18 May 1939 in Pilsen, Protectorate Bohemia Moravia (Now known as the Czech Republic). He gained his Ph.D. in Darmstadt University of Technology in 1969. He used to be Professor in Julich Research Centre University of Cologne. Grünberg died on April 7, 2018 in Jülich, Germany.
