2011 Brian P. Schmidt (1967- )

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the Universe through observations of distant supernovae.”

As an astrophysicist, Mr. Schmidt was born in Missoula, MT of America on February 24, 1967. He holds dual nationality of America Australia. He received his Ph.D. in Harvard University of America in 1993. Currently, he is academician of Australian Science Academy crown member of Australian Research Committee.
