Drew Weissman (1959-)

Awarded the prize “for the discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19”.

American biologist. Born on September 7, 1959 in Lexington, Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Weissman received his doctorate in medicine from Boston University in 1987. Currently, he is the professor at the University of Pennsylvania and Director of Penn Institute for RNA Innovations.
