Dr. Karikó received a bachelors degree in biology in 1978 and a doctorate in biochemistry in 1982 from Szeged University, Hungary. Currently, she is the professor at Szeged University in Hungary and an adjunct professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.
