Ales Bialiatski (1962- )
Awarded the Prize for his joint effort in promoting the right to criticise power and protect the fundamental rights of citizens. He has made an outstanding effort to document war crimes, human right abuses and the abuse of power. Together with other Peace Prize laureates, he demonstrate the significance of civil society for peace and democracy.
Belarusian social activist. Born on September 25, 1962 in Vyartsilya, Karelia, Russia.
