Anton Zeilinger (1945- )

Awarded the Prize “for his experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science.”

Austrian physicist. Born on May 20, 1945 in Ried in Kreis, Austria. Dr. Zeilinger received a doctorate in physics from the University of Vienna, Austria in 1971 and he is the former President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Currently he is a professor at the University of Vienna and a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
