Klaus Hasselmann (1931- )
Awarded the Prize “for the physical modelling of Earth’s climate, quantifying variability and reliably predicting global warming.”
German meteorologist. Born on 25 October 1931 in Hamburg, Germany. Dr. Hasselmann obtained his doctorate degree from Gottingen University, Germany in 1957. He used to be Director of the Institute of Geophysics of Hamburg University, Germany. Currently, he is a professor of Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, Germany.
