American virologist and medical scientist. Born on August 25, 1952 in Sacramento, CA, USA. Received his Bachelor degree from the University of California, Davis in 1974 and his doctorate degree from the California Institute of Technology in 1981. Currently he is a professor at Rockefeller University in New York City.
