Peter Handke (1942- )

Awarded the Prize "for an influential work that with linguistic ingenuity has explored the periphery and the specificity of human experience."

Austrian novelist and playwright. Born on December 6, 1942 in Griffin, Austria. Mr. Handke studied in the law department of Graz University in 1961. He won Georg Büchner Prize in 1973, Franz Kafka Prize in 2009 and International Ibsen Award in 2014.
