Joachim Frank (1940- )

Awarded the Prize "for developing cryo-electron microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution."

American biophysicist. Born on September 12, 1940 in Siegen, Germany. Mr. Frank obtained his PhD from Technical University of Munich, Germany in 1970. Currently, Dr. Frank is a professor of biochemistry &molecular biophysics at Columbia University. He is the academician of both American Academy of Arts & Sciences (AAAS), and National Academy of Sciences (NAS).
