Japanese organic chemist & microbiologist. Born on July 12, 1935 in Yamanashi, Japan, Mr. Satoshi Ōmura received his doctorate in pharmacy at University of Tokyo in 1968 and Ph.D. in chemistry at Tokyo University of Science in 1970. Currently he is Professor Emeritus at Kitasato University.
