William C. Campbell (1930- )
Awarded the Prize "for the discoveries concerning a novel therapy against infections caused by roundworm parasites."
Irish-born American biologist and parasitologist. Born on June 28, 1903 at Ramelton, Ireland, Mr. William Campbell received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1957. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus at Merck Institute for Therapeutic Research, Drew University.
